Believing is Seeing relates to an essential idea of Chan Buddhism,
a branch that says you see the world as you please. Humans
accumulate values based on their own way of life, and interpret or
distort the world .Vilém Flusser argues in Towards a Philosophy of
Photography, that photography is so abstract, that even when it
looks like reality, the reality is far from it. Believing is Seeing is a
project carried out having faith in the nature of humans and in the
nature of photographs made by them. As a photographer and
human being, I try to transform a model’s personality or aura into
an external language by using makeup and my imagination. At first
glance, the characters in the picture look like mythical beings that
do not exist in this world. However we can sympathize through
their eyes and recall again that they are also human beings.
